A directory for the use of the small, independent business person in Teesdale and a service to the tourist.

Here is an opportunity to promote your website without the expensive links offered by other organisations in the area. By definition the World Wide Web depends for its existence on links. No links- no web and there is no need for anyone to charge for the service.
I am offering you a mini website in this Index and a hypertext link to your own site for nothing more than a small donation to charity.
This directory will generate increased awareness of the service you have to offer. The surfer can skip through the outlines of the mini sites to find what they want . When they see a location that appeals to them a link will take them there. It saves lengthy downloads of complete sites. Makes sense really.
This directory has been submitted to over 40 UK search engines and is already ranking well. Barnard Castle Index is fast becoming as easy to find as any other Barny site.

There are few conditions:-

You must be on the internet. A website is not critical as a mini site will be created with a link to your URL or e-mail address.
This is not just a cheap advertising offer. Anyone subscribing to any other organisation concerning website promotion is excluded as they obviously don't need my help. If I find out otherwise after I have posted the site it will be immediately consigned to the bin.
There will be no duplication of services within categories. First come in the pet shop category will get the entry. The only exception will be for accommodation which is after all the life blood of the tourist trade.
All the information for the entry should be taken from your website. I will not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in your submission. Anyone not offering good value need not apply.

The site will be developed and maintained for free but a donation of £10.00 per year would be required. This must be in the form of a crossed cheque payable to the RSPCA. I will e-mail you every year to remind you and if payment lapses your entry will be downloaded.

I will try to give every entry the same size space but please don't chastise me if you get a millimeter or two less than the next man. I will be doing my best. Webspace is unlimited so there is no theoretical end to this directory although the limiting factor will be my available time (so get in quick!). As long as the server is in business then so shall we be. Obviously, as no payment is being taken, I cannot be held responsible for any refunds should this directory cease to function. It will either be the fault of the server or I will be dead.
As the Index grows some redesigning will be neccessary to keep it easy to follow. We will wait and see.

E-mail me your URL or info with a statement that you agree to these terms and your mini site will be on line asap. A graphic or photo may be included but please make it small. When your entry is up and running I will ask for your donation.
